Description The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering, starting in the fall semester of 2018. Exceptional candidates at the rank of Associate Professor will also be considered. We are seeking applicants with primary research focus in Computer Architecture, including Shared and Distributed Multi-Processors, Application-Specific-Processors for Cyber-Security, Power-Aware Architectures, High-Performance Processors, Cloud Computing and Internet of Things. Experience with Digital Design, Microprocessors, and related hardware implementation is required. 

The successful candidate will be expected to develop an internationally recognized research program, attract external funding, participate in collaborative and interdisciplinary research, engage in scholarly publications, and foster strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching. She or he must have an earned a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or closely related field at the time of employment. We seek an individual with the ability to think creatively, exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent writing and oral communication skills, and a history of academic proficiency.

For full consideration, applications must be received by November 30th, 2017. Applicants will be evaluated based on their accomplishments in the aforementioned primary research areas and potential for attracting external research funding, as well as their ability to interface their research with the Department's existing strengths in microelectronic circuits, VLSI design, embedded and reconfigurable systems, FPGAs, communications/signal processing, and controls. The applicants are expected to develop new curriculum as well as to teach students from the freshman through senior/graduate technical elective levels in computer architecture including cloud computing and internet of things, microprocessor design and programming, digital design (including Verilog HDL), etc.  

ECE, one of the three departments within the College of Engineering and Applied Science at UCCS, comprises approximately 291 undergraduate students, 60 graduate students, and 12 faculty members. The department offers a hands-on learning-centered environment for a community of outstanding students pursuing B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. The department has a rich tradition of teaching excellence coupled with interdisciplinary research. The ECE department has several labs including: microelectronics research lab; microwave measurements lab; high-capacity battery lab; and embedded systems lab. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 

  1. A Ph.D. degree in electrical or computer engineering or a closely related field; 
  2. Specific expertise in Computer Architecture and related fields
