VISION

The Engineering Leadership Council (ELC) brings together leaders from industry and academia to drive innovation in engineering education, address workforce challenges, and create enduring partnerships that benefit students, the college, and the region. 

About the Engineering Leadership Council Continued

ROLE

The role of an ELC member includes: 

  • Advocating for the UCCS College of Engineering and Applied Science
  • Sharing industry insights and professional expertise
  • Contributing personnel and resources to advance ELC and College initiatives
  • Demonstrating commitment through meaningful financial investment in ELC priorities
  • Supporting student engagement through senior design projects, research collaborations, internships, career pathways, and employment opportunities 

 

STRUCTURE

Membership 

  • Members are senior leaders or technical experts in their organizations
  • Membership is by invitation and involves a renewable two-year commitment, with the expectation of ongoing active participation.
  • Council members meet twice a year. 

 

SCHEDULE

The ELC will hold meetings as follows:

  • The Engineering Leadership Council meets formally two times per year – fall semester and spring semester
  • Additional meetings may be called to address issues of importance between regularly scheduled meetings
  • The Leadership Team meets quarterly to review prior period outcomes and provide foundational guidance 

 

INTERESTED IN JOINING THE ELC?

The Engineering Leadership Council (ELC) is a by-invitation group of industry leaders and technical experts who are passionate about advancing engineering education and workforce development at UCCS. 

How to be Identified for Membership:

  • Advocating for the UCCS College of Engineering and Applied Science
  • Contributing personnel and resources to support College initiatives
  • Demonstrating commitment through meaningful financial investment in College priorities
  • Supporting student engagement through senior design projects, research collaborations, internships, career pathways, and employment opportunities
  • Participating in college events and networking with current ELC members and leadership
  • Expressing interest by contacting the Career and Industry Program Director or the Director of Development for the College of Engineering and Applied Science

How Membership Works:

Potential members are identified based on their active involvement with the college, demonstrated commitment to its mission, and alignment with the goals of the ELC. Nominations are reviewed by the ELC Leadership Team, and invitations are extended to individuals who are well-positioned to contribute meaningfully to the council’s work.
