Description The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor. We seek an aggressive faculty member in communication systems and wireless networking starting fall semester 2018. Applicants will be evaluated based on their research record and potential for attracting external research funding, as well as their ability to interface their research with the Department's existing strengths in microelectronic circuits, VLSI design, computers, communications/signal processing, and controls. The department is interested in candidates with a strong commitment to pursuing externally funded research and teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels. 

The College of Engineering and Applied Science at UCCS offers degrees at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels. The Microelectronics Research Laboratory (MRL) of the ECE Department has a well-equipped 4000 sq. ft. class-100 clean room, with device processing and characterization facilities.  The Microwave Measurements Laboratory is able to test EMI from high-power circuits.  The High-Capacity Battery Research Laboratory has facilities to test and characterize cells, modules, and battery packs for hybrid and electric vehicles.  For additional information, please go to https://easwebsite.uccs.edu/ece.
The successful candidate will teach students from the freshman through senior/graduate technical elective levels in networking signals and systems, communications theory and practice, and wireless networking related course work.

Required Qualifications

  1. A Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field
  2. Specific expertise in communication systems and wireless networking Preferred qualifications
  3. Postdoctoral and/or industrial experience with a strong publication/funding record
  4. Experience with development and implementation of wireless networking systems, such as testbeds.
