A message from the Interim Dean
Greetings from the UCCS College of Engineering and Applied Science (EAS),

As Interim Dean of EAS, I have a special role in guiding the college to "Reach Higher," following the UCCS theme. Our college's unique legacy includes the vision of David Packard, a native of Pueblo, Colorado, who co-founded Hewlett-Packard and is noted for both innovation and philanthropy. We are proud of our history in successful company creation and have adapted the slogan “Reach Higher to invent tomorrow’s technology today!”

We strive to keep that legacy of excellence alive, having our undergraduate program ranked nationally by U.S. News and World Report among primarily master public institutions for 6 years in a row! In fact, our undergraduate program is now ranked in the Top Ten (tied for 9th in the nation among public engineering schools whose highest degree is primarily a bachelor’s or master’s). Our graduate program is tied at 144th!

These prestigious rankings come as a result of our excellent faculty, diverse technical laboratories, and student accomplishments. Our strong commitment to our students is heightened by close links to industry through our EAS Leadership Council. Our students are highly sought for internship opportunities and fulltime employment in a wide range of technical roles. We also take pride in our concurrent enrollment programs with the Pikes Peak Community College.

In addition to our focus on research and co-development, we also have a collaboration and commercialization program called "Global Engineering Ventures" (GeV) to help foster the creation of new companies and new jobs. To "Reach Higher," EAS is committed to being actively and successfully engaged in our community, our state, our nation, and the global economy.

As you visit our website, please consider this online portal only a first step in learning about UCCS EAS. Feel free to contact the Dean's Office any time for assistance. We appreciate your interest in our college!
