All courses are offered on a semester schedule (Fall and Spring – 16 weeks each; Summer – 8 weeks). Courses are NOT self-paced and typically follow a weekly schedule of lectures, assignments, readings, etc.
Yes, all of the College of Engineering & Applied Science graduate programs are accredited by the North Central Association of the Higher Learning Commission.
No, all coursework is completed entirely online. There are no on campus requirements.
Minimum requirements are an Internet Service Provider (ISP), a broadband internet connection (Cable/DSL/Satellite), and a personal PC or Mac computer. For suggested hardware/laptop configuration visit the EAS IT webpage. Online students have the same access to the software programs that are provided by the college to on campus students, which can be accessed remotely.
Yes, up to 9 credit hours of transfer credit can be applied towards the degree. Contact the program office for more details.

Typically a student can complete the degree in 2 ½ to 3 ½ years. Students can take up to 6 years to complete the degree, if needed.
No, the GRE is not required for application or admission.
Applicants who do not meet all of the admission requirements may be accepted on a provisional basis. Provisions are determined on a case by case basis. Contact the program office if you have specific questions.
The ME degree is considered a technical master’s degree – there is more coursework and no research. The MS degree may require less coursework, but a high content of research. One of the major differences between the two: the MS focuses more on the studies and theories, while the ME focuses on the application.
No. Your transcript will reflect coursework and degree conferred. There is no distinction made between degrees earned online as opposed to those earned on campus.
