About the Program
Civil engineers design, build, maintain, and replace infrastructure used every day by citizens in small and large communities. Large public projects, such as roads, bridges, water systems, water treatment plants, dams, buildings, hydroelectricity, railroads, and airports, are all examples of civil engineering projects that benefit communities. Civil engineers work on complex solutions to unique problems in the built environment. Part of their work is ensuring the safety of the public and the environment.
This program is a 2+2 agreement with CU Boulder and CU Denver. This program will allow students currently enrolled in the UCCS College of Engineering and Applied Science to complete the first two years of a four-year Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree. Students may benefit from being in the UCCS Colorado Springs area to save on commuting, housing, and tuition.
The last two years of the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree will be completed at either the University of Colorado Denver or the University of Colorado Boulder. Alternatively, if students prefer, they may also opt to stay at UCCS and apply the entire Civil Engineering pathway to the UCCS Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree.
Students in the Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering Pathway will access a guaranteed admission pathway to CU Boulder or CU Denver provided they meet the criteria for the program.
Prior to their final term at UCCS, students apply for admission to CU Denver or CU Boulder.
