Computer Engineering Minor

UCCS also offers a flexible minor in Computer Engineering. The minor provides students the ability to formally supplement their study in other fields with a rigorous computer engineering background that will enhance employment opportunities after graduation.

Model Degree Program

This minor covers the full breadth of computer engineering skills, bringing together computer science and electrical engineering topics. This minor uses a prescribed set of courses and skills, covering Robotics, Logic Circuits, Computer Based Modeling, Microprocessors and Microcomputer Systems, Computer Science, Data Structures and Algorithms, and Programming and Software Engineering. These topics will give a broad background and skill set to enhance employment opportunities after graduation.

• 25 credit hours
• 7 upper-division credit hours (3000-4999 level)
• 2.0 Minor GPA; a grade of C or better in all courses applied to the minor
• Prerequisites may be required, but will not count toward total hours for the minor
• A maximum of 9 credit hours of transfer work may be applied to the minor
• Residency: Last 16 credit hours of the minor must be completed while registered at UCCS
